ENGR. DOM OKAFOR STORMS ROME FOR THE INSTALLATION OF BISHOP OKPALAEKE AS A CARDINAL OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.



The Candidate of APGA for Aguata Federal Constituency, Engr Dom Okafor expresses great delight as he witnessed the installation of His Eminence Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke, the Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese as a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

He described His Eminence as a man whose life and experiences epitomises the faithfulness of God. Even in the midst of storms and travails, he remained patient, embodied an uncommon dimension of endurance and long-suffering whilst holding firm to his faith.

Engr Dom Okafor in conclusion, commented that the testimonies of His Eminence is one to be studied, as it will strengthen the faith of every Nigerian especially in a time like this when all hope seems lost.



Recall; His Eminence Peter Ebere Cardinal Okpalaeke was first appointed the Bishop of the Catholic diocese of Ahiara by his holiness, Pope Benedict XVI on December 7, 2012. Because of the firm resistance he met he did not exercised his Episcopal ministry there.

Following his resignation as the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara, in what the Holy Father Pope Francis described as "Holy Patience". He was again appointed as the Bishop of the newly created Catholic Diocese of Ekwulobia on March 5, 2020, which he served till  the announcement of his elevation to the Cardinalate by Pope Francis with twenty others at Vatican.



Dignitaries that stormed Rome for the installation include; The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, The National Chairman of APGA, Ozonkpu. Dr. Victor Oye, Bishop Paulinus Ezeokafor, Chief. Sir. J J Ezeokafor (Jezco), Senator Uche Ekwunife, Valentine Ozigbo, Hon Dozie Nwankwo, Rt Hon Uche Okafor, Hon Chris Azubogu, Mr Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief Andy Azike, and host of others.
