Akonu Chiagoziem Wins Nnobi Youth President  Election

.....saying the will of God has prevailed

....promises to be people-friendly

Amb Chiagoziem Akonu popularly known as Banja has swept to victory in the Nnobi Youth President election, polling a total of 292 votes to emerge winner of the election. 

Hon Ikechukwu Okolo polled 35 votes while Hon Okechukwu Ewelugo has 5 votes.

Akonu, addressing the media afterwards, dedicated his victory at the election to God while noting that the will of God has prevailed.


He equally assured the people (women and youths) of Nnobi community that they would continue to enjoy the benefit of good leadership cum administration and also promised to run an all-inclusive and participatory leadership.

He further commended the Association of Nnobi Youth Electoral Body (ANYEB) and security operatives for ensuring a free and fair election.

ASATU State Youth President, Hon Ken Okoli who witnessed the election, commended the voters for their peaceful conduct. 



The election was also witnessed by the Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Amaka Obi (Iyom Idemili), President General of Nnobi Community, Barr Dominic Savio Okpala, APGA Chairman of Idemili South Local Government, Hon Kizito Nwakibie Anoliefo, Chairman of Association of Nnobi Youth Electoral Body (ANYEB), Hon Ifeanyi Aguh amongst others 


Amb Chiagoziem Akonu was declared winner of the election by the Returning Officer Pst Ezeakum Chijioke.

 World Sight Day: Hon. Amaka Obi Advise Residents Of Idemili South On Eye Care. By Mma Okpala  The convener of Women Initiatives For Greater Anambra(WIGA) who doubled as the Transition Committee Chairman Of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) has advised people of Idemili South on eye care as they celebrates World Sight Day today.  Idemili South Council Boss, Hon. Amaka Obi said that, people should love their eyes by avoiding poor diet, abuse of drugs, alcohol and ensure they have a yearly checkup from an eye medical doctor from the age of 40. Iyom Ife-Abata who earlier offered free medical outreach stated that loving one's eye involves the people obeying the dos and don'ts for good eyesight, including avoidance of smoking, herbal preparations due to adulteration of alcohol, diets and fruits.
