The Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Idemili) has said that sports is a representation for defeating impediments and accomplishing against incredible chances.


Council boss made the statement during Sports Carnival at St Joseph Catholic Parish field, Awka-Etiti, stating that the event provided an ideal platform to bring youths together.


The sports carnival which  was organized by Ezenwata in Council saw the participants battling each other in different teams. Hon. Amaka Obi expressed her delight on the efforts taken by Ezenwata in council and Awka-Etiti Cyon in making the sports carnival success, noting that it is a great time to put aside the stress and join in some exciting fun to develop positive energy and increase performance. 


Council boss further said that Dr. Nonye Soludo's healthy living has many segments which fitness was among, urging them to embrace healthy living championed by Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo.


In appreciation, CYON President, Chigozie Mathias Obi commended Hon. Amaka Obi for taking time out of her busy life to attend the event, praying for more strength upon her as she takes the council area to next level of development.

 World Sight Day: Hon. Amaka Obi Advise Residents Of Idemili South On Eye Care. By Mma Okpala  The convener of Women Initiatives For Greater Anambra(WIGA) who doubled as the Transition Committee Chairman Of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) has advised people of Idemili South on eye care as they celebrates World Sight Day today.  Idemili South Council Boss, Hon. Amaka Obi said that, people should love their eyes by avoiding poor diet, abuse of drugs, alcohol and ensure they have a yearly checkup from an eye medical doctor from the age of 40. Iyom Ife-Abata who earlier offered free medical outreach stated that loving one's eye involves the people obeying the dos and don'ts for good eyesight, including avoidance of smoking, herbal preparations due to adulteration of alcohol, diets and fruits.
