World Sight Day: Hon. Amaka Obi Advise Residents Of Idemili South On Eye Care.

The convener of Women Initiatives For Greater Anambra(WIGA) who doubled as the Transition Committee Chairman Of Idemili South Local Government Area, Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi(Iyom Ife-Abata) has advised people of Idemili South on eye care as they celebrates World Sight Day today.
Idemili South Council Boss, Hon. Amaka Obi said that, people should love their eyes by avoiding poor diet, abuse of drugs, alcohol and ensure they have a yearly checkup from an eye medical doctor from the age of 40.
Iyom Ife-Abata who earlier offered free medical outreach stated that loving one's eye involves the people obeying the dos and don'ts for good eyesight, including avoidance of smoking, herbal preparations due to adulteration of alcohol, diets and fruits.
Council boss added that smoking is not good for the eyes, noting that there are people that have gone blind from taking some herbal preparations made with alcohol adulterated with wood alcohol, and there are drugs like chloroquine that when abused have been confirmed can and have caused blindness.
