A social media commentator, Influencer and APGA youth leader for Nnobi Ward 1, Emeka Ezeh popularly, Emmy Young has lauded the philanthropic gestures of Ikemba of Nnobi, High Chief Emeka Hamilton Ezeonu for his philanthropic activities which helped in drawning the attention of Governor Chukwuma Soludo's administration towards consideraing the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Nnobi Ring road.
He also praised High Chief Ezeonu and his wife, Dr. Mrs Thelma Ezeonu for the construction and tarring of one kilometer road with concrete side drainages and three water boreholes which Governor Soludo commissioned recently, as well as renovation of Nnobi General Hospital, doctors' quarters and building of modern security office which the governor also inspected shortly after the commissioning ceremony.
Governor Soludo had while commissioning the road, the boreholes and inspecting the renovated hospital and doctors' quarters and security office, noted that his adminstration's attention having been drawn by the Ezeonu's Philanthropic acts, would consider flagging off the construction of the Nnobi Ring road which traversed Nnobi and Awka-Etiti communities in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
According to Soludo, the road which started from Umeh Junction, Nnobi through Umuru Village, Nnobi to Nkolofia Village, Awka-Etiti with a spur to Ibenegbu Junction, through Umuafor–Ebenator Nnobi Abbatoir, would be constructed in three phases.
In appraising the positive development, Emmy Young who was also a former Executive Assistant, EA to former Governor Willie Obiano on Public Procurement, expressed optimism that Soludo, in his quest to provide physical infrastructures in the state, through his Public Private Community Partnership, (PPCP) agenda, would eventually flag off the road as soon as possible.
According to Emmy Young, "through Ikemba's kindness, community service and his quest for giving back to the society and for being there for the people in appreciation to God for His blessings, Governor Soludo's has now given him a listening ear".
"As an indigène of Nnobi, I must also commend Ikemba's wife, Dr Thelma for her generosity in empowering over 100 women with different start up kits, ranging from Gee Pee water tanks, cassava grinding machines and free medical outreach to ensure their healthy living. She is a role model and mother Theresa of our time".
"As for Ikemba Nnobi, he has written his name in gold. He has been passionate for positive change, never relented and who thinks about the welfare of the people. He is a model of emulation. History will be kind to him", said Emmy Young.
